Energize Delaware playing a major role in green workforce development

Energize Delaware recently hosted green workforce development training for nearly 60 of their Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program heating and air conditioning professionals (HVAC) and energy auditors from across the state..
Manufacturer representatives from Bradford White, Eco2 Systems, Rheem, A.O. Smith and Ariston Group demonstrated their heat pump water heaters, which save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eliminate the dangerous production of carbon monoxide.
“As we work to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, providing training on products is essential to move the marketplace, expand energy efficiency, and save consumers money” said Drew Slater, Executive Director of Energize Delaware.
The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program (HPwES) involves an energy assessment by a home energy auditor, a detailed report, and incentives to encourage homeowners to make home energy efficient upgrades. If a homeowner decides to become more energy efficient and uses a participating contractor to do the work; Energize Delaware offers rebates to homeowners on the energy efficiency upgrades made to their home as identified through the assessment.
