DOVER, DELAWARE, July 19, 2017 – ZeMod Delaware is excited to be debuting its newest zero energy modular home model at the Delaware State Fair. Located between Quillen Arena and the Food Court, the model will be open to tour each day of the fair from 11am-9pm.

Built by Beracah Homes in Greenwood, Delaware, the second ZeMod model is a charming 1,204 sf, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage style home. It features a super insulated building envelope, an all-electric heat-pump HVAC system, ENERGY STAR® rated appliances and lighting, and a rooftop solar system. Its design makes it not only affordable, but also a healthy and comfortable living environment.

With durable construction and solar electricity, ZeMod homes deliver quality that lasts, savings that grow over time, and no electric and heating costs. In addition to the low cost of ownership over its lifetime, income qualified ZeMod homebuyers can also benefit from a variety of incentives provided by the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility.

The DESEU has partnered with VEIC and Milford Housing to run the program. VEIC has extensive experience in designing affordable high-performance homes, while Milford housing brings expertise in providing affordable housing to rural communities in Delaware.

“The DESEU is excited to be the sponsor and financial backer of the ZeMod Program and we are equally excited about our partnership with Beracah Homes and MHDC,” says Tony DePrima, Executive Director of the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility. “While our immediate goal is to make these Net Zero Ready Home affordable to 25 qualifying families; our long-term goal is to work with Beracah Homes to sell hundreds of these homes in the market place.”
